is this a genuine iPad 3 or just an upgraded iPad 2 (Like the iPhone 4 S).

Verdict:

For Apple Fans who already hold the ownership of Apple iPad 2, the New iPad has nothing extra except the 5 MP camera, high resolution and few minor features. However for those who are planning to buy iPad for the first time, the New iPad is worth to pay for its elegance along with the high capabilities in the compact device.

I can guarantee that once you see that retina display, your iPad 2 will never be the same again.

That's what happened to me when the iPhone 4 came out...

OK so I have received my new iPad. Haven't had much time to play, but heres a quick report.

1) I did notice the extra weight compared to the iPad2. It is heavier. How much of a problem this is depends on you.
2) It behaves pretty much exactly like an iPad2 in general performance.
3) The Retina Display is gorgeous. Text and menus etc are ridiculously sharp. High res images look fantastic. It does however mean you notice lower res images very quickly, and in relative terms they look soft.

Oh and XMAX - apparently Microsoft are working on native Office iPad apps. There are many existing apps which can work with PDFs and Office Docs. Its not a complete laptop replacement though.

pity FNB internet banking support is rubbish.

after switching to FNB, I then registered my internet banking account.
setup my username/password, all good.

try log in, invalid details
try forgot password, invalid details
try forgot username, invalid details.

and then they say, if you want actual support it will cost you R50, what a joke.

so basially I cant flipping register for one :)

Sounds very strange.

I also switched from ABSA to FNB last year. Never had issues that could not have been resolved over the phone.

BTW, if all else fails, go into a branch and log in from one their customer terminals to confirm that the problem is really on their side.

In their defence, I'm pretty sure the R50 support is to cover them from some pensioner that is trying to get his 386DX connected to the Internet ...

didnt even look at the prices. absolutely no point getting the 16gig version instead of the 32gig IMO, R40 difference, over a month = 0 difference at the end of the day

I have an iPad3. It's nice. If you have an iPad2 then better to wait for the iPad4 to come out next year. If you are buying an iPad for the first time then the 3 is an obvious choice. I have the 64gb white version. Bought it cause I use loads of storage and you can't add to the storage of an iPad
