Hey,

To all iPhone 5 users, iOS 6.1 is out, bringing LTE support for the Vodacom network.

Be sure to phone Vodacom to activate LTE on your sim, Contract users only for now.

Jailbreak should be out in the next few days.:joy:

Update: Guys, if after the update you receiving No Service, goto Settings>General>Cellular and turn LTE off, it seems that if you on Pre-paid or an unauthorized contract sim it will not connect and you will receive no signal.

Switching it off reverts the phone back to the 3G band.

Regards

Thanks for the heads up :)

Not sure how valid this statement Is but iv heard that one of the reasons for poor battery life is because the phone was designed for lte and its constantly searching for it.

Not expecting any miracles but will let you guys know if there is any difference once the update installed

Hey Boet,

Not actually hey, Because our carrier settings have had LTE disabled, the LTE portion of the baseband chip has been offline.

On a side note, I've actually found my iPhone 5 to have the best battery life compared to my iPhone 3Gs, 4 and wifes 4S.

How long is the battery lasting you? I get about 1 day and a half, sometime two days, with around 8 hours usage.

This is my 1st iPhone and I'm not use to the battery life to be honest. Mines doesn't last a day but I do alot of browsing and using email.

Will wait for untethered jailbreak (which could take months)

You in luck buddy, its ready, 1 week.

Code:
planetbeing: In terms of release date, we're aiming for approximately a week out, but it's possible it will come sooner or later than that.
