Introducing my Jap Spec e65 735i

I am long time lurker here. After reading inspiring stories of these awesome machines I ordered a 735i, 2004 model from Japan. She has 113,000 KM on the clock. My fuel economy (urban) is 5.5 KM/L. On a long run she can get to 10KM/L. Not sure if this is typical. She handles better than anything I have driven before. I love the comfort and ergonomics (despite what other people say).

I am a neighbor from up North (Zim). I will be driving her into Polokwane next year for software upgrades and a general look over.

Why all the way from Japan? Plenty of those here in South Africa.

She looks stunning. Have a major soft spot for these.

They are much cheaper in Japan, I landed this one at $7,500 (before tax & duty).

Beautiful car.

Have change fluids to withstand our climate?

I only changed the oil. I got a coolant low message and a local Indy advised that I top-up using distilled water. The other fluids are not meant for our climate?

Oils and such perhaps? AFAIK different oils are designed around certain operating temperatures... Personally I'd do a change of all vital fluids just to be on the safe side

Congrats.

Bought a 120i with 80,000kms from Japan for 4,200USD recently, wonder why they are on the cheaper side. The Japanese are metticulous about maintenance.

After a certain amount of mileage the cars become costly in terms of emissions taxes, etc which is why the cost plunges so rapidly.

Nice ride man! Awesome fuel economy for such a big car too! :bravo:

Was I the only person here expecting to see a 7 series with a mad drift style body kit and big wing from Japan? :fencelook:

Car looks great, 5.5km/l translates to over 18l/100km, good service and fluid change might help getting it better.
