When I bought my car I noticed a few things on the interior I wanted to get restored and I started with this:

BEFORE PICS

AFTER PICS

Just to note, I did not use plastic dip but used paint. Now onto my next project is getting the TRIMS on doors done. Will post pics once I complete the project.

Very nice, I am actually using Plasti Dip as we speak to colour code the grill on the Smarty.

Great product and very easy to use.

Mike I agree the plastic dip is easy but I work for a panelbeaters and see the paint as permanent. Plastic dip tends to peal or perish after a while.

Once done, gonna get that nasty rear carpet cleaned. Could not understand why someone would leave a carpet to get into tat condition.

Interestingly, and I am not stirring but more curious than anything I have the exact opposite experience of spray painting.

There is stuff I sprayed on the Smart's dash a year ago which flakes off like powder now. And I even primed etc and did it properly.

So I am hoping the Plasti Dip which I will also use on the Interior is a bit more durable.

What spray paint did you use?

I can only answer that tomo Mike. Will find out the code used. I have done many plastic items that are non related to the car and have not had any issues. With regards to the interior I just did, guess time only will tell.
What paint did u use on the smart's dash?

Very nicely done. Mine is also the this grey colour and the centre console has lots of marks from the seat-belt anchor scratching against it - have already replaced the felt pads on the seat-belt anchors, not the best design, but an E90 thing.

Then, that same rear vent cover on mine needs replacement - since I bought the car it was always sitting loose and unable to clip back into place. It seems that the carpet is somehow preventing the face from fitting as it should and sometime in its past the clips broke. So either a case of replacing, with possibly lots of vaseline involved, or use some sort of adhesive - not my first choice!

Another "damaged" area is the driver's side and passenger's side B-pillars - seems like the seat-belt (again) tends to rattle against this and causes the finish to become pitted or scarred.

From what I have seen, the E90 interior does not have the quality of the E46. I don't know what the previous owner did but the interior was looking like the car went to war and back and after spending 2 weeks and a lot of hard work I got the front looking like new. So I am busy with the rear now.
