installed the K&N filter

Wow amazing the difference between std and K&N!!!!
The throttle response is much better has more bwwaaaaaap , a beefy sound.
The installation for me was quite hard took me about an hour to do.
I left the bottom part of the air box off, this way it gets cooler air and is protected by the top of air box from the heat!! I havent really opened the car up to 6000rpm yet.

The sound is just awesome!!!:thumbs:

I did it since 5 years ago. A big difference in response and sound.

I left the box as is, just swopped the filters

What I do not like, the K&N filter is oil based and it can screw around with your sensors after a while.

I have also been using the K&N flatbed filters but I tend to stay away from to much oil after cleaning it.

I used the cone, to replace the stock filter.

I oil mine every 4 months

I installed mine last week & I didn't notice a difference :fencelook:
Maybe just a slight increase in volume but the sound & throttle seems the same.
I'm going drive around for a month then replace the stock filter to see if I can tell the difference.

The best way to test is if someone changes your filter to stock without you knowing :rollsmile:

the filter is quite big and I can definitely hear and feel a massive difference.
I have removed the resonator out exhaust as well so car runs pretty awesome for a 1.6L!

The suction of the filter sounds wicked,i did it in the underground today and my GF said do you know how many people are looking at you car right now.

Also I think there is a lot better response due to not having the bottom half of the air box in.

Think a 116 on a dyno would also be silly,lets be honest its not a performance car.

I used to dyno my ST all the time with every mod that got installed,but its a performance car so sounds right.

I haven't dyno'd my car before so there won't be anything to compare to.
Think I should dyno her now just to see how she's running

I had a civic type R, bought at an auction, when I took my vin to Honda to find out plan and warranty, to my surprise, the previous owner had mugen suspension, xhorst n chip imported from japan and installed by Honda, the car was a biatch!! A perfect balance of speed n handling, a true go cart, later installed a filter, you don't exactly feel a power surge but a noticeable increase in breathing and more instant throttle response, most fun Ive had in a car!:thumbs:

They can charge you whatever they want for replacement filters.
If it's lifetime they'll never get a cent.

Never standard but you can see these filters on the 911 4.0 GTR3 and Audi R8. So they are infact using them on performance cars
