Hey Guys

So basically im in the same predicament as ROMEO E.T. I've got a 2003 BMW 318 f/l. the car doesnt have the power I need or want and the boot is way below my spacial needs. I'm a musician so I have a lot of stuf to transport because I play piano, bass, drums and accordion.

I saw the E38 and immediately fell in love with it. I'm on the lookout for a 740i with decent mileage and in decent condition. What should I be looking out for on this car?

If anyone knows of a example for sale or have one for sale please let me know.

A fair price would also be appreciated bacause dealers charge a fortune and the mileage is usually insane.

thanx Guys

I would love to get my hands on a 2001 740i...

I would look out for the usual BMW suspects, plus the air suspension. It can be a real wallet drain.

Yup...it sure a beautifull piece of engineering, it was upposed to be my "Standby" car for when I need to service my main E39 530d, but I am finding that I am driving it a lot, the silky smooth steering, the sound of the V8, showing off the "bullet" proof (not really-just impact resistant) side windows, driving with the television on watchin Dr Phil etc, an absolute joy......except the fuel bill, at 4km/litre to 4.2km/litre consumption....eeissh

good luck with your sourcing.

If you turn that silly Dr. Phil to silence, your 740’s therapeutic drive will ease your nerves more than enough.
