Ok, now to give you some relief, I have disconnected mine by, yes removing the negative only and putting it on a cloth (so we don't short things :rollsmileand then there is ONLY one thing you need to know about this. DO NOT CLOSE THE BOOT. At all cost do not close it as if you do, all I can say is good luck opening it again. See the central locking system works only when it has power, but what about the simple key we never use to open the boot, well that is the problem as the system still uses the same central locking mechanism when turning the key, it needs power :roflol:
Disconnect the battery negative and walk away or go have coffee, do not close the boot (or better put something in the way so the boot cant close to avoid problems), leave it for 20minutes for all the units (ECU's) to reset and then once finished with your 5th cup (I love coffee :rollsmilethen come and reconnect the negative, remember that it will spark the moment you touch but try and do it in one go. You should be ok.
Hope this helps with confidence :=):
Thanks Liz...
Will try not to forget this rule... DO NOT CLOSE THE BOOT. At all cost do not close it as if you do, all I can say is good luck opening it again. :biglol:
