It depends on the condition, and "needs work" can mean anything.
A full show-class restoration can cost R200k+ easily so I would make that about the upper limit for regular 2002s in perfect condition.
A good condition unrestored example probably between R100k - R150k again, depending on paint, interior and documentation.
A non runner anything from R20k to R80k depending on work needed to bring it back.
These are VERY rough estimates and I would not hold anyone to these. Its just an idea. There is in truth no market price for these as they are sold far to seldom to determine trends.
Best bet is to decide what you can afford, then make an offer accordingly.
Just keep in mind that mechanical repairs on these are affordable, it is the cosmetics that cost an arm and a leg to restore. So missing trim and dented grills and cracked dashboards would be very expensive to replace.
