So this looks like adamn awesome vehicle however many of the x20i vehicles were plagued with timing chain issues etc...some even facelift ones...on the forum one guy had a facelift 320i chows it turbo up (still checking why).

for longegivity and reliability, maybe look at the x20d range.

This car is a facelift model, it will have the B48 engine and not the N20. Facelift F30's manufactured after 2015 will have the facelift engine.

I would hedge a bet on the B48 being better than the N20, but the B47 diesel engine would arguably be the pick of the 2 options.

It looks great but I think it would be better to stay away from the N20 or B48 and rather go for a diesel bud. You should find a similar 420d GC for that price.

The 4-series does weigh 100-200kg more than the similar 3-series specced cars.
For that reason alone, I would go 420d (more torque to carry that added weight) or just find a nice specced (and much cheaper) 320d (or 320i).
But, if you are happy for a standard 320i to beat you at the traffic lights, then go for the 420i.
