Highveld to coast

Morning all

I travelled down to the south coast over the weekend. The first real road trip in my car.
I know there will be a slight difference in performance from Joburg to the coast, but in my car there was a big difference.
Firstly, up here in 5th gear going up a hill the consumption doesn't go over 12l/100km and changes down very quickly.
At the coast I noticed it went up to 15l/100km before it changes down to 4th.
Also, in Joburg there is a bit of a lag when I floor it, at the coast the performance was awesome through all the gears. Smooth accelerating all the way. And the power delivery was a lot better than here.
Fuel delivery issue?

Is this normal?

Coast has more dense air... Which means a lot more performance, and because there is a lot more dense air, ECU uses more fuel to mix with said dense air.

My job here is done...

As crash said... The air is more dense here at the coast so your ecu will up the amount of fuel delivered to keep your mixture at the correct preset levels it has in its file according to the burnt mixture that the o2 sensors measure...

More air at the coast = more fuel = more power

Less air at the highveld = less fuel = less power
