Hey guys,

*Mods please delete if this is a duplicate or inappropriate thread*

So in my mind, I dont ever want to sell my car.
I am sure many of us say that, and I hope that I can stick to it lol.

What I would like to know is, who has a high miler N54? What issues did you experience? Any advice on preventative maintenance etc...?

Mine had 174000km when I bought it from Kish.

I bought it stock but it was fully modded making 340wkw and 700nm

During the time in my care, it was the normal maintenance, some big ticket items like, water-pump, radiator. I also had a leak from the oil cooler which contaminated the cooling system, small repair but labour intensive due to the cooling system needing to be flushed. Also had to drop the box to replace rear main oil seal.
I ran JB4 and the box was still running strong

Sold it on 204000km.

It is currently doing 220000km. It currently makes 260wkw and 601nm. Yet still going strong.

Most of the big ticket items were covered by SA Warranties, ensure you have a good warranty in place:cartel:

No 300k mark anyone?

Mine is N55 and I'm hoping to get there as I did a lot of preventative maintenance.

I did:
- tappet cover
-HPFP
-injectors
-coils
-coolant hoses (cant remember which one)
- cooler pipes (either side)
-starter for whatever reason)

Normal maintenance:
-Radiator (4 times due to poor parts/workmanship at BMW)
-water pump
-thermostat

My wife drives the car - so I'm paranoid - but no a little less paranoid now that car is out of motorplan as I cant afford to be paranoid:smilebounce:

Carbon build up. I got mine carbon cleaned at around 175k km (I think) and it made a huge difference. Car felt a lot smoother and "cleaner" power delivery.
