High Revving

morning all just suddenly when the aircon is switched on , my cars revs climb about 1000rpm between gear changes and when coasting down to a stop when i lift my foot off the accelerator it takes about 2-5 seconds for the throttle to disengage.and then the revs only start to fall , but this only happens with ht e aircon on. any ideas

Aircon uses power from the engine as far as I know... Its normal...

i agree with you but this behaviour just came out of no where before the revs did climb to about 1000-1100 rpm at idle but did not change the way the car reved during gear changes , just seems starnge :dunno:

Silly question, but is it not your carpet that's making the pedal stick.

We have seen quite a few posts where the loose carpet gave some guys quite a fright by hooking onto pedals etc.

o well at least it was a good idea that happend to me a few years back in my golf and i never knew what was causing it till i took the capret out and it had curld over and was wedge in the pedal ,

so i whent to the scrap yard tonight and spoke with theguy there , and we conected the diagnostic machine amd it sais the tps is to blame , so ill get a new one from him tomorrow and see what happens
