Dude, your problem is not the car but your right shoe. Someone stuck Lead on the right foot.

Mine is about 12.8l/100km on the box. Dunno what that converts into R/km

What is the oil and water temperature when you drive the car and what distances are you covering?

Thanks guys, @legacy,

oil and water tempr are fine and sit at normal,

im doing a 100km for R200,
That is hardly scientific dude.

Go and fill the tank, drive until the reserve light comes on and then go and fill the tank again and work out your consumption properly from there. Without doing that it is impossible to tell if something is even wrong.

I used to get about 150kms - 180kms on R200 with my 328i E36 so for an ///M with a heavy foot you seem to be in the ballpark.

That is pretty steep - mine works out about 1/2 of yours. what is the power like on dyno..?

when last was the car serviced properly..? drive train losses..? wheel alignment..?

maybe jack-up the car & make sure bearings or brakes are not jamming

i.e. the wheels rotate freely...pulleys the same - pumps ac - drag somewhere

Typically the big motors will burn 15L per 100km in an urban cycle.

R200 buys you 16L

So 16 litres gets you 100km.
That is ok for what it is you are driving.

On my 4DR 3.2 M3 that I had, I used to get around 7-8 Km/l in town driving, and that was driving really nice. Open road it climbed to around 10-11 Km/l at around 120 Km/h with cruse control engaged on a straight road. These cars are not really light on juice in town driving, and short distances doesn't help either. Open road, yes !!

But like they said, only one way to drive these cars. Drive it like you stole it , and don't complain about consumption.
