HELP!! Please. M3 SMG

This may be a stupid question, but one of my friends told me that the E46 M3 SMG is not one of them you want to drive, it always give trouble and it is not that easy to get parts. what is you guys opinion? im looking for an M3 but the only one i can aford now is in the SMG's price class. Or if i cant get one how is the E46 330 models?

Armand, go manual... manuals should be cheaper. Only prob with the SMG is that if they break, or the SMG pump goes, it is extremely costly to fix. I personally think that SMG gearbox is special though and is awesome to drive.

no problems with SMG,my old one is on 120 000km and not a days shit. if u know how to drive it, its not jerky.'The box is essentially a manual gearbox. clutch life is longer with SMg. Try taking off faster in 2nd gear and smoothly with a Man, SMG wins!!!
