Help Please: Headlight Lenses

Hallo all,

Could you please help, I need to know where I can buy the E46 headlight lens covers, without paying an arm and a leg for them, because I see they are replaceable items?

You use to be able to get a product from Mr Lens

Problem with this product is that its made from acrylic and it doesnt' like bulbs that generate a very high amount of heat...

Thanks, do the E46 bulbs generate a lot of heat? Anyone using import (read: "China") lights?

I'm pretty sure there are aftermarket ones with some forum members. Do you need because yours are cracked or faded or what?

IF you want OEM, and don't mind second hand, you can always try a scrapyard. Shouldn't be much.

Have you tried MD House motors in JHB? They usually have loads of spares and parts for e46.

you will find OEM sets on ebay, that's the best route IMO

Is yours broken that you want to replace? :fencelook:
if they are broken go to a scrap yard im sure you wont have a problem finding a set or EBAY if you can wait for it...

If they are just pitted one can always first try and polish them, but I am sure someone mentioned that they are actually not that expensive from the agents - I must actually also think about replacing mine, they were fairly pitted when I would the E46...

I think the dealers price for prefacelift ones are like R450, and facelift like R900. I dont get it either and I could also be wrong. I would rather just get new ones I wouldnt bother with second hand ones. Most of the strippers I visit all their headlights are pretty scratched.

Yep, will have to find out and confirm, but for that sort of money I'd get them and stick with OEM!
