Help please. Apple or BMW...iDrive USB streaming

Hi. First thread, awesome forum, happy to be here .

Hope someone can help.

I got this original BMW accessory to connect my iPhone 6 plus to my USB port in my centre console.

It's the official cable and doesn't seem to work despite the details indicating that it would let me stream and access music using idrive.

Although the 6 plus is not specifically mentioned, it uses the same lightning cable. I tried it with my iPad 4th generation (that is listed on the compatibility list) but that gives me the same error (the connecting less is not compatible).

Both devices are running iOS 8.1.2.
Vehicle is a 320d f30 2013 model.

Anyone had the same issue and resolved it? Don't know if it's and Apple issue our BMW issue.

What version of ME software is running on your car? You can check your part VIN on the BMW website to see what the latest software is for your car.

But rather make a booking to get BMW to do the update they locked the updates at some point. My '12 refused to accept updates.

Had her in for a service yesterday, asked the guy if they did the software updates and he said there were none. He was the service advisor though so not sure how much he knows about that.

Will call again today and make the arrangements.
