Potentially heading up to George next weekend, will let you know if I do.
However my gear box knowledge is very limited so just depends what you need checked.

Just to check that the shafts rotate freely without any strange noises and check overall condition. Also note if there are oil leaks. Take pictures and make a note of the serial number and model number.
