Hi guys

I ordered the M Sport and it’s arriving 31 Jan at the dealership, but now there is a spanner in the works, a fully loaded 328 is available at the used section that I can have by Saturday or Monday.

Differences:

Used: 2012 Model, 4000km, Alpine white, Black leather, Sportline, Xenon, Sport Auto Gearbox, 18”, Std Suspension (I think), Std brakes, PDC Front & reat with cam, std sound, sunroof, Pro NAV, Heads up Display, speed limit info, connected drive, electric towbar, + 1 very pissed of sales lady as I already signed offer to purchase.
My order: 2013 Model. 0km, Mineral Grey, Coral Red leather, M Sport, Xenon, Sport auto Gearbox, 18”, M Sport Suspension, 4 pot M brakes, PDC Rear, std sound, no sunroof.

The used one will be R5k more than my new one, but keep in mind it’s a 2012.

New before discount comes to R512k, where the other one comes to R579k, so the used one has R67k worth of extra’s over mine. After discount it is R475k (new) R480k (used).

With used I'll loose out on M Sport exterior, M Brakes, but I'll gain sunroof, nav + lots of other electronics and towbar.

What do you guys think? I went to see the sales lady and told her about this car to push for a courtesy car in the meantime while I wait for the new one, but I’m sure I can back out of the deal if I need to?

2012 & 4 oookm's still qualifies as 'new' man!

I'd go for the 2012 model. Like the black leather better over the red to be honest. :fencelook:

I would go for the used, more bang for your buck...
Could always retrofit M-Sport if you want the look?

That used one sounds lovely especially with all those add-ons! I read somewhere that generally new car owners take a hit with all the extras as the person who buys it after them pays a lower price and gets all the goodies!

You need to be careful though as its a 2012 model, so you have lost a year worth of value on the car (should you wish to sell in the future). It is a tempting deal, my salesperson advised me that a sunroof aids when it comes to selling the vehicle. I think you need to consider how often you will use all of the tech compared to your new model.

Also, you are changing trim levels so what M Sport gives you will not be on the Sport Line. Have you test driven the M Sport and Sport lines on their own?

Extra's dont really count come 3 years down the line and you want to trade in.

Stick with what you ordered initially.

Take the new one.

That's what you went to the dealership for.

That's why you took your time to spec it.

So far i'm leaning towards my original choice. Chose all the options for a reason. Just wish I wasn't so stingy and went for Nav.

HUD, lane change etc. warnings I really don't need.

M Sport kit, M Sport brakes and M Sport suspension will make it a driver's car!

Your NAV will be outdated in 6 months or less, and BMW will want a gazillion dollars to update.
Buy a good nav app for your smartphone or a standalone GPS unit for less than a grand and you are golden.

+1 to this! Get either a TomTom or Garmin with lifetime update on maps and live traffic. You will save R18k and that can go to the live services (+- R300 per year)

Im sorry to be the bad guys - but new you are going to lose at least 30to35% the second you sign the deal. I would look at the other and ask them to throw on extras....ie Rims U name it.
