Had a bit of a mishap this morning :(

So this morning my wife and I decided to take a drive out to Van Gaalen Cheese Farm for some breakfast. Somewhere in the middle of no where on the R560 I hit a very nasty pot hole as in the pictures, left front and rear tyres are stuffed . I am sure there has to be suspension damage, any thoughts? Car had to be put on a flat bed and taken to Execulines assessment centre till tomorrow morning. And what makes this all worse is that I only fetched the car on Tuesday after having hail damaged repaired! I am soooooo bleek!

that must have been one hectic pothole to inflict that damage to a rft. glad everyone ok. hope your car is not too badly damaged and its back on the road soon :thumbsup:

sorry am no expert. but if it can do that to a rft, then anything is possible. did you take a pic of the pothole? once you have the repair quote, send all the details to the municipality for payment. it might take a while but worth a try.

This is the only pic I have of the whole, it is exceptionally large, and I had no choice but to hit it as the road is narrow and there was a car passing on the opposite side. Here is a pic.

:thumbdo: SUSPENSION DAMAGED...TAKE MY WORD FOR IT - THE DOME WILL BE BENT.
been there seen it done it...both front wheels. this is the problem with runflats...cant stop and change them.

check the suspension mount in the engine bay for light cracks. It's a common issue on the 3ers

Thanks for the replies guys, will get them to check all these components. Gonna push the insurance to get the car sent to Club Motors Randburg ARC, as I understand it had to be taken to Trojan Panelshop in Selby for assessment, don't think I want them touching the vehicle though!
