Gran Turismo 5 - Academy Edition

So I have upgraded from my old PS2 with GT4 to the new GB Playstation 3 500GB which came bundled with GT5 Academy Edition. Anyone else here playing this?

Really enjoying it and been getting my licenses and first few trophies. One thing I have not figured out yet is how to change the measurements to show power in kW and Nm etc. Also, is there a way to duplicate/backup your saved game so that you can reload if you make a blunder? So that you don't have to start from scratch...

Any other tips?

Licensing test are always a great way to start - good to get them out of the way and build up your "reputation".

Regarding the saved games, I think the only way you can go backwards from making a blunder is if you saved your game manually.

You should be able to change measurement settings under the "units" menu in settings, I think it might be called "measurements" for others.

Hope you enjoy the game and join us in the GT5 challenge thread.

Academy Edition offers the same gameplay as normal GT5, but in the box should be a couple of vouchers for downloadable content, mainly newer cars such as the latest Nissan GT-R etc, and a couple of tracks.

The measurements can be changed in the options menu

Im not too sure about backing up saved data though.

Added to the Playstation Network!

Well, that's the thing, you can set only speeds to km/h, but nowhere does it give me an option to set units of measure for power and so on, and I have checked everywhere, unless I am missing something...

Cashed in those vouchers and got 28 shiny new cars including the latest Nissan GT-R and a few other awesome cars, as well as the GTR on the cover. :joy:

Wow!! I tried it this morning - this thing defies physics and I gather is completely fictional! The first impression I got was that the game suddenly went into 2x speed or something!!

Yep, I reckon the G-forces are a bit crazy though, snap your neck with the quick direction changing abilities! :fencelook:
