Im doing an overhaul on the cooling system.. including changing all the hoses.

i managed to get an OEM top radiator hose from the dealer, but they didnt have stock of anything else. so swung buy our local GW. i managed to get a Febi lower rad hose, but they only had the Topran tank to water pipe hose. has anyone had issues with Topran stuff?

Topran is generally the lower quality brand compared to the rest that Goldwagen offers, like Meyle and Bilstein, etc.

hmmm... alrighty.

the funny part is that the Febi and Topran hoses were the same price for the exact item. they just didnt have the Febi in stock

The general consensus with a cooling system is to never skimp on the parts or quality, seeing as one wrong move can land your engine up in the dumps...

Rather order the better quality ones and wait for them to arrive.

For anything on the cooling side, I would rather get OEM parts. Twice the price but also lasts twice as long. And more importantly, peace of mind :coolShake:

i managed to find a place who sells "Gates" branded hoses yesterday. apparently they import these from the US directly. i'll go and have a look later today.

for sure im trying not to mess with this. the upper hose is a new OEM, and lower is a Febi hose.. but just not sure about this tank to water hose now :(

Gates is a pretty good brand indeed! I fitted a Gates serpentine belt on the E46 some years ago and it still looks to be in very good condition!
