i Have an old rusted e30 318i that im in the process of fixing up with a possible m50...so far Ive taken that bold step and removed the old M40 anker and getrag 240 box which brings me to this question
My dad has a 98 316i e36 with the m43 motor and getrag 220 box but has a problem as his first gear is totally busted... so i got an idea...will my e30's getrag 240 bolt up to the e36 m43 motor? in other words, besides the ratios, are there any differences between the e36 getrag 220 and the e30's getrag 240.
im inclined to help the toppie but cant afford to have his box repaired or buy a re-conned one now. Was thinking of an easier way out.
