GA6HP19Z ZF Box Query

Hi ZF Services

I have a 2010 BMW X1 23d Xdrive with 114 000km on the clock.

Front & Rear Diff Oil was changed at 74 000km.
Transfer Case Oil was changed at 74 000km.
Gearbox Oil Incl. Sump was changed at 74 000km.

All of the above, by BMW.

The vehicle is mapped and runs 190kw & 440nm.

The query:

When in DS or M only, I notice the box seems to slip on quick upshifts under heavy acceleration. So a scenario, you at a red light, in M1. You accelerate hard and shift up to M2, then M3 in quick succession not fully letting the car reach the redline. It seems like the box holds the revs between the gears before finally settling to the correct RPM of the gear you have chosen almost like as it goes up into the next gear its slipping trying to fully engage the gear, but at the same time, the car is still accelerating hard.

Sometimes if it does it, I release accelerator (while its doing this "slipping" at say 4000rpm) and it will immediate drop to say 3000rpm which is the correct RPM for that gear and speed and when I accelerate it appears to pull stronger and feels like its properly engaged on the gear that I selected and no longer "slipping".

This is something I noticed in the last 10 000km (so last 5 months) and I cannot recall if it designed to behave like this, or ever did it to begin with.

I have also done some severe off-roading with the vehicle and had the Gearbox Temp Light (Yellow) come up a few times (meaning the box is at 105-115 degree's if BMW's Tech is right) when dealing with long up-hill climbs in the car.

If left in D, it will redline and automatically change up, there is no slip. I can force it into M6 at 60km/h and under full load / boost it does not slip. The box behaves perfectly everywhere except in that scenario.

1. Is the way the box is behaving normal?
2. Could I have caused premature wear on the torque converter which is causing it to do this?
3. Should I do another Gearbox Oil Change (Ravenol 6HP Fluid BMW Approved) and see if the box behaves differently
4. Should I have BMW redo the programming and teaching on the box?

I would really appreciate your feedback, I am sure there is nothing wrong, but I would prefer to be certain.

Thank you!

Mike
