The BMW plant at Dingolfing is to cease production of the current F01 and F02 7er by July next year when it will be re-tooled for production of the G11 and G12 models.
The actual car will be unveiled at the 2015 IAA Frankfurt Show in September.
BMW does have some major catching up to do since I had a close look at the LCI 7er today and was not impressed. IMHO the E65 cabin has a much higher perceived quality than the current generation 7. That coupled with the recently launched S-Class should have BMW worried just a little bit.
