Anyone in SA got the new 7 Series as yet?

I did the dealer launch and training so spent about 2 months with the car,

Im not allowed to post pics, but I can say its incredible and for the first time capable of not only matching a S class but beating it.

I played around with one today at dealer when I went in looking for a car for my brother. Was a 730d.
What an amazing car! The gesture control is really something else but takes some getting used to. ( I only managed to turn the volume up and down )

The touch climate control system and that new digital speedometer looked amazing . What I liked was that you could control the fan speed for both driver and passenger and back seat passengers independently . That was pretty cool .

The center screen as well! Reminded me of an Ipad for some reason , it had no plastic or maybe a very thin surrounding of some sort and was of a nice glossy black color kind of like a flat screen LED TV. Picture quality was excellent!

There were so many goodies and gizmoes in the car , I just didn't know how to use many them. The one I was playing around in had the auto parking feature as well . Everything seemed electric in the car . The Speedometer had some charge icon on blue, I don't know what that was . The one I did manage to get working and enjoyed playing with was the cars surround view , It allows you to view the area around the car like how one would view the globe on google maps! Even lets you spin the car around to view each side on some sort of split screen . Such an awesome parking tool.

I really liked the design of the dome lights ! Wish BMW fitted something like that to all their cars . This one looked so classy and elegant with its mix og curvy lines.

And its so quiet! When the car was on and at idle , the noise was really low . Like a petrol engine . Even though this was a diesel .

BMW has really created something special and its so comfy!.

I taught this car was already launched? I would have taken pictures !

Most of those features are already present on the F01 as optional extras.

The 730d has how many turbos these days? :mmm:

There's one at the Auto Glen dealership in jhb. Saw it but didn't go inside...still too young and for a 7:tiptoe:

Forgot to mention! The Idrive screen was also a touch screen. I found that pretty cool.

Please post a good long review. Not that I'm in the market for a 7. But I am really in awe of this car especially the tech etc that it has.

Just played with one. Gorgeous car. Will be getting one for a full day next week with a chauffeur as a personalized launch event. Now my clients are going to think they pay me too much.
