Fuel tanks

How would you replace a fuel tank on a e92 3 series? Do you have to remove the driver's seat and exhaust pipe? Or can you just take it out from the bottom?

Now I am wondering why would you want to do this?

I would assume you would have to remove the exhuast and the drive shaft and the rear seat to be able to remove the fuel tank.
