Fuel Consumption 1994 318i AT

I recently bought a 1994 318i AT. I really like the way the car feels, but it is extremely heavy on fuel. I sent it for a service and had my co's done but it is still very thirsty. Any way I can bring down the fuel consumption? NEED HELP!

Not sure exactly. But I only got 40km of 10l recently. Not sure of the conversion to l/km.
