Good Morning Fanatics
Last week I had the pleasure of working on this lovely Ford Bantam 1.3 owned by Mr Bont, the owner of Unique Sound.
The bakkie is a 2006 model, with almost 100 000km on the clock. Althouigh very well looked after this workhorse often spends time on dirt roads and sometimes goes for weeks without a clean during busy gigs.
Jarryd, the owner is very particular about his Bantam not only because it has his name on it but also because he understands the importance of marketing. His Ford is a reflection of his company and his service.
Keen to learn and help out he spent the day working on the car with me.
Heres the Bantam is on arrival:
The hub caps were removed and rinsed with degreaser including the steel rim, arches and lower parts of the door. This was then agitated with brushes to loosen stubborn dirt.
The paintwork was slightly oxidized and lacking in shine. This was solved by a single pass of Pro Polish from Chemical Guys after a quick run over with some stage 1 paint cleaner (notice the paint is white now). You gotta love soft paint on a rugged bakkie. :fencelook:
Aaah thats much better!
Then it was up to the smaller details which included dressing trim, removing some stains from the seats and waxing her with Chemical Guys XXX Hardcore wax which I have started to to really love. Also waxed the hub caps with Rim Wax.
Engine Bay was given a spruce up, not bad for a everyday bakkie.
And finally, with Jarryd chuffed and me satisfied I give you the results of our efforts:
From BMW's to Ford Bantams, its great to see owners looking after their cars. Well done!
