For TWD fans who are getting bored...

So, TWD (The Walking Dead) has become more boring for me since a few years ago and no other show has managed to capture that initial thrill from the earlier TWD seasons.

Well, that changed recently when I dived into Black Summer on Netflix.
This is a back-to-basics zombie show.
No focus on complex relationships or alliances or post-apocalyptic world building.
Just raw, close-up zombie vs human combat, with some neat human vs human vs zombie action as well.
I am into season 2 now and it seems to be better than season 1.
This is meant to be a prequel to Z-nation (which I did not like because it was a comedy), but this feels like a different animal altogether - darker and ruthless.

Give it a watch and let me know if beats TWD for you too.

+1

Only been through S1, but quite enjoyed it thus far.

The Walking Dead started off so well. Pity the writers lost the plot.

If I may, another great show for me was "The Boys". While not a zombie themed show, it's brutal and raw but rather fun to watch.

Unfortunately not a Netflix show, so you may need to sail the high seas.

If this is on Amazon, I can sign up for the free trial and check it out.

Is it is similar to Zack Snyder's 2009 Watchmen movie?

The boys was good!

TWD is a total snorefest the last couple of seasons. Seems FTWD is heading the same route.

Will check black summer, although I have a quite a few series to catch up on.

The reason the walking dead became total weak sauce was becuase Frank Darabont, who wrote Shawshank redemption, & directed The green Mile (among many other things), developed and produced The Walking Dead’s first season off Robert kirkmans graphic novel. Darabont wrote the pilot and was heavily involved in writing first season and setting the tone.

He left after season 1 it basically turned to drivel from the moment on. Like a decaying zombie

Similar-ish tones in certain respects, from what I recall.

Watchmen certainly doesn't take things as far as The Boys does though. You won't/shouldn't watch it with your kids for instance :ROFLMAO:
