Flashing Brake Lights

Ive noticed this weekend on 2 separate occasions under hard emergency braking the brake lights start flashing...

This was observed on a newish 5 series BMW and a Porsche 718 both with LED tail lights.

I found this quite a handy feature as the car following is immediately alerted to the heavy emergency breaking going on in front...

Does anyone know what year this was introduced on BMW's?

I did noticed that on my 2009 as well..but I assumed I pressed in in the panic stop:roflol:

This feature was first launched on the F01 7-series from around 2008, and made its way down the line thereafter.

I had this on my 2004 Audi A3 and then my 2008 Individual and 2010 LCi etc all have this.

Except the Hyundai and Polo :roflol:

I have only noticed the hazards going on in the emergency stop, luckily I have only ever once had to do so.. Slight derail but to be honest I don't think the stock Brembo 6cyl brakes are good enough.. :hammerhead:

Seems to be 2 different levels, when on track my old car used to flash etc but if u come to almost a standstill or below are certain speed they emergency indicators then activate.

I disagree regarding the 6 Cyl brakes on a F30, I was very impressed with the stock Brembos, not once did I experience brake fade and braking hard into slow corners was also impressive
