First time buyer/owner advice

Hello everyone. I'm looking for some advice and I'm sure you can help me. I currently drive a 2007 Opel Astra GTC. I'm thinking of selling it and buying an E36. I've dreamed about owning one since I was a kid. Preferably I'd want a 325 but I'll take any model really. I just need to know what I should be looking out for both mechanically and aesthetically. What are some of the biggest problems with the E36 and how do I stop myself from falling into a money pit.

Welcome to the forum. The 325i is a strong engine. Why not go for the later model E36 328i? Extra performance and it would have had the mid-life upgrade.

If were me, I'd get a 328i convertible, still a legend - coupe would look better.
