Finally I got the Alpina Reps fitted (after nightmare)

After a 3 week mission I got the rims fitted. I bought them from a mechanic that told me he got them from someone who told him the rims came off a E36. I took his word for it. The rims was damaged a bit so I had them fixed and resprayed. Then it was discovered the rims would not fit as the center bore were too small. The engineers made the center bore diameter bigger according to E63 spec. Then the PCD was off. The engineers then made the new PCD holes. We were going to make the new PCD holes in the hubs, but discovered that the thickness in between the existing holes is much less and the hub could break if using the thin parts.

I think it is Audi rims as the PCD was 5x112 and center bore 57.1mm which is the same for A4, A6 and A8. And the center bore was smaller than E36 72,6mm.

I had 205/65/15 wheels and now 225/45/17. I must say... I have to get used to all the new rattles & harder ride. I supose there some fixing to do on suspension etc making noises.

This is what it looks like with new PCD

And here are some pics of my ride. This is actually the first modification. It needs a drop in the front I think. And those wheel caps. I can get from Mag Addiction CPT for R350 each and Autostyle on JHB for R120 each. Any advise would be appreciated and if I can get center caps cheaper somewhere else as well.

I'd say worth the nightmare..centre caps to be fitted ( or rarther enginered based on the other problems) and there you go !

Yes I`m will be saving up for some center caps and a locknut on each wheel cause one cant trust the tik koppe here in Strand hehe.

So how about a drop in the front? I`ve heard many comments about it. I think a 30mm drop in front will do? I heard there`s guys who will cut the original coil springs to the specified drop. So I figured I will get some 2nd hand springs from a scrapyard and have them cut. Or is it a better option to get purchase a lowering kit.

Nice look :thumbs:Cutting a normal spring does not work . You can have your springs retempered to a shorter length , or fit eibach springs or so. You can google for comments about springs bought at every corner speed and styling shop .

Best to just go for lower springs, as cut springs will pretty much be stuffed.

+ 1000

Rather buy lowered springs.

Another option is a suspension specialist like Van Zyl's.

Car is looking good with the alpina's :thumb:

My advise is get two or three sets of those lock nuts, and should be proper (tiger wheel has them)

Those Wheels are a jackpot to them bloody agent thieves :argh::argh::argh:

Ok so I photoshop in the Eibach springs with 30mm drop in front and 15mm drop at the rear. Also managed to get some original Alpina caps.

Looks like we will have a winner?
