Compare yourself to someone who just bought a brand new Prius for 388,000.

You can drive 130,000km at hoon consumption before the M5 costs as much as the Prius. Then you sell the M5 for 20,000 less than you payed for it. Prius sells for half what he payed for it. Take the 170,000 you would have lost if you bought the pruis ( less what you lost on the M5) and buy an M3...
repeat.

And tell everyone you recycle.

Funny thing is someone was telling me how awesome the Toyota 86 is as a sports car after I told them I was buying an E46 M3.

No matter which way you look at it, even if the M3 costs R100k more for maintenance and fuel, you're still better off financially and you have a vastly superior sports car if you choose the M.
