Factory Stock BMW 135i dyno figures (N54 manual vs N55 manual)

Both cars were absolutely factory stock pre-LCI manual transmission spec cars owned by me and run on the same dyno at ALB (Snail) in Roodepoort, JHB.
Will post the full graphs as soon as I am able scan them.

N54 - 188.0wkw (2nd March 2013)
N54 - 195.6wkw (3rd September 2013) Same car as above but after a 1400km run.

N55 - 200.0wkw (14th September 2013)

I'm hoping to go on a long weekend journey in the next two months with the N55 and dyno it soon afterwards to see if there's an improvement too.

Awesome stuff man!
Would like to put my car on as well one of these days, see what it does there as a comparison.

@ dean, i was really surprised with 200wkw & i thought if I got 190wkw I would be happy since the general feeling is the n54's are stronger.

@ upncoming, the yep a comparison would be great
n55 manuals are scarce as is it.

Good read, thanks!

Killa, thank you for the stock dyno figures, it would be really REALLY awesome to see the graphs too!

For single vs bi-turbo dyno, I think the real question is not the similar peak output, but it's to see where they are putting down torque/rpm in the rev range, e.g if the bi-turbo can put down more torque at lower rpm it'll be a better drive feeling on an average day etc.. Or if BMW have optimized that single turbo for a similar or better setup etc

Hey bud,
N54 vs N55, both cars being stock, it's been proven N55 is stronger but mod for mod N54 is generally stronger.

Nice figures, were you using same fuel in both cars?

yep I only use shell v-power
both cars had 95 v-power nitro fuel from founders shell service station, cnr gordon rd and ontdekkers in florida.

see my other posts about fuel choice & fuel consumption. I have a little ocd so I only pump from fuel one island even if I must wait 10min. im also bent on using the same air hose always...variances of air hoses on some forecourts even off the same compressor vary as much as 15%. And yes, the tyre pressures on both cars were set to 260kpa as per factory recommendations.

I totally agree with you.
Managed to scan the graphs, will post soon.

Here's the graphs as promised.

Nice stats, the TT setup of the N54 still allows for more power to be pulled from the Engine though. Guys at VTT got a 335i pushing 726whp..

Hey those n55 motors are really strong. Played around with an M135 lately and he can surely make my n54 run around n play catch.

*****************************************************

Fellow fanatics as promised, I went on a long trip this past weekend to KZN and went back to the ALB dyno today with my N55 to see if there were any improvements....

Dyno figure was 204.7wkw at a slightly lower rpm...up from 200.0wkw and torque figure identical at 417nm but also at a slightly lower rpm.

Only differences between the dyno runs were:
1. Today's temp was 27 deg c & previous run was 24 deg c.
2. Today I had Engen Primax 95 & previous run I had Shell V-power Nitro +

Im happy & I think my car is a good average...what more can a guy ask for...

Apologies for the picture quality, will scan the full dyno graph soon and post it.

How do these figures compare with other 100% factory stock cars, anyone else dyno their cars?

*Proudly stock and loving it*
