F30 gear shifter light not working

Guys anyone experienced this issue on the F30 auto gear shifter. The indicator is lit up when you start the car and goes off as soon as you engage in drive and stays off even if you select N, R, P thereafter.

International forums indicate that the GWS ecu is faulty and the entire gear selector needs to be replaced and coded.:thumbdo:

UPDATE: Vehicle went to the dealership and the entire shifter was replaced and coded under plan. It would cost you R13k if you out of plan:fencelook:
