Good day all

I've just taken delivery of my brand new F30 335i Motorsport! #blackbeauty

Will definitely post pics soon, just don't have the time right now.

I posted a thread earlier on last week about M Performance parts for F30s, in addition to this, I am thinking of doing the exhaust.

In the past, I've had an F30 320i which I kept stock standard. So I am new to the modification scene and not sure of the do's and don'ts when it comes to mods & keeping the warranty/service plan intact. I preferably would like to keep it intact lol!

I'm hoping that you okes on this forum will be able to help out with options on what exhaust mods I can do that will be acceptable by BMW as well as give my car that beastly tone it deserves.

NB: Akrapovic (although one of the best I've heard) is out of the question, unless I don't eat for a few months. :roflol:

So I've just gotten off the phone with BMW themselves and apparently, if a full exhaust mod is done (front to back), it will void the warranty.

Only changing the back box is allowed and should only be done by BMW.

ACS is 35k and M Performance is 21k all in.

What about Remus back Boxes

The guy I spoke to says anything other than BMW/ACS (even Akrapovic) will void the warranty, apparently.

Aaaaaah. 21k is still a lot. I would rather get DP's and a JB installed. Then just remove them when you have to service.

Thats too much of a hassle.. So much if you dont have your own lift etc at home you will be paying labor all the time to remove and install the DP....

If i look at my car, its been at BM, ALOT, id rather just stick a JB4 in there and be done. And if you happy to cough out 21K for an exhaust with little performance increase by all means, go for it..

The M Performance exhaust sounds great. The gains from any exhaust are minimum. All the restriction is in the primary cats (in the DP's), so until you remove those its not really worth doing a whole system. I got maybe 5kw gains from Akra.
I think the sound of the M Performance is worth it. If asked the same question a year ago and would have though it is waste and your mad to spend R21k for a sound.
After driving my 335 with an aftermarket exhaust for the past year I can't imagine driving a car with a boring stock exhaust anymore.
Each to their own.

Hi,

Phone around regarding the m performance exhaust. I think the quote you have is a bit out.
I paid about R10 k for the box and about R 4 k for the chrome tips about 2 months back. Albeit for a M135.
Dealers usually don't carry stock but the turnaround is one day. Tell them you willing to pay upfront in that pay bargain for the max discount.
My experience is they always budge.
Just my 2c.

Can you maybe give me the name of the dealership you got yours from?

I phoned 2 so far and they've quoted me around 21k.

Hi, searching the international forums apparently the standard black tips can be used on the performance back box.

I'm not really looking for performance gains, as I know they're minimal. Looking more at getting a better tone out the exhaust.

Thanks to all for the input!
