F30 330d - couple of questions

Need some advice with following:

1. Car sometimes laggy at low revs, tried gearbox reset, but no effect. Does this mean gearbox needs servicing?
2. Black soot particles making the car dirty, black exhaust - is this normal
3. Rattle at high speeds coming from steering wheel column. Sound stops when I place my hand on top??
4. Affordable 18inch runflats?? Something reasonably priced..
5. Diesel additives - do they work, which ones are best?
6. Heard some horror stories re timing chain failures - how much do they cost to replace?

1) what's the mileage on your car?

2) yep completly normal

3) if a recall a few members had this issue on F series cars maybe they can advise

4) cant help with that

5) Diesel additives work well if used frequently, I.e. every service, Wynns diesel boost + Injector cleaner in a tank has amazing results. Liqui Molly also has a decent range.

6) Timing chain failures on the F30 330d never hear of one before this was E90 320d lci as far as I'm aware

1) As asked depending on Mileage done, would recommend a decat, but that might cause more of what bothers you around 2)

3) Does the car have knocking noises when going over bumps as well? I would look into the steering rack issue the F30 is known for, if it's rattling is the panel under the steering column not maybe loose?

4) 18" I think is the odd ball size, they always end up being expensive, did 19" on the 335i 6 months ago cost me 16k , did the 318i last week, 16" cost me 8.2k fitted and all.. What were you quoted on the 18"?

5) Agree that Liqui Moly is a great brand, I used it on my late 320d

6) The 6cyl BMW diesel motor has got to be the most reliable engine built, have never heard of trouble..

Hello there 2012 BMW F20 

I’m having a similar problem with black soot or black liquid coming out from the exhaust, the performance of the car is normal, I do smell fuel when the car is parked and I’m out of the car.

The car went for service two months ago and they did mention of low fuel pressure. 
What could be the problem?

1 Is it air filter needs to be change
2 over fueling 
3 lower fuel pressure 
I have attached pictures below please check and kindly advise.

The car went for service two months ago and they did mention of low fuel pressure. 
What could be the problem?
