I am having a F30 320i the engine just seized without any warning about low oil pressure etc. I opened the engine only to find out the cause was the broken chain guide debris blocked the oil pickup , cranshaft polished and new bearings were installed.
I only drove that car for 600m and I seized again without any warning please assist

Did you open it up to see what the problem was this time? Didn't you have any additional damage as a result of the first seizure?

I had my engine seize on me as well as a result of the guides. Caused scoring on my bore, one piston was damaged. I done the head, sleeved block, new pistons, polished crank. Seized on me again 6000km later. This time around combustion temps were too high - probably the mod to blame.

So the chain guides on the F30 320i are prone to break, can one change them before they give in? if so what sort of cost is one looking at?:fencelook:

Yes they are. From release to sometime in 2014 if I'm not mistaken. You can do the preventative maintenance. I've only heard of people changing the complete timing set - chain, guides, etc. Labour and parts sets you back about R19,000 @ BMW. I'm sure you could get it better priced elsewhere. The guides alone cost about R2,300 or something like that for the upgraded part.

Bmw hasn't admitted it as a fault and there is therefor no recall on it. You'll have to chat to your service advisor about it. Maybe someone can recommend a dealership that has service staff willing to help out before it becomes a problem.
