Hi Fanatics.

How is it possible that my wife average 14 km/l in traffic from work to home?
I can drive like a granny all I want the best I can get is 10 - 11 km/ l.
Does the 320i gets heavier on fuel when driving really slow?

Any comment's?

Wife used car for work purposes so she does all types of traffic. She has a heavy foot and worst is 10l/100km.

On open road best was 6.5 at 130km/h.

Hmm.. seems high.. my 335i does 13/100 with minimal traffic and opening up whenever I can.. If it's heavy traffic you are stuck in try keeping it in comfort and do a test and compare that to the eco/pro start stop.. Other than that book it in and complain about high consumption :coolShake:

Check the first post. His figures are in KM/L not L/100km

I'm only complaining because she manage somehow to get way better consumption than i do.

And when i drive i really try to get the best consumption sometimes but cant get any better than 10.5 maybe 11 km/L.

But i still love the i.

Lol f30s do not like traffic consumption can shoot up in traffic, why does she not use start stop if she is in hectic traffic. BTW would of been easier if you posted litres to 100kms just saying

This is an excellent return in my opinion. Anything from 10km or more per litre is fantastic.

I average abt 9km per litre in heavy traffic.....:blueCry:

She got 14km/l in traffic? o_O
How the hell did she manage that? Check back of the car for bumper marks or dents or something to see if she was maybe being pushed home.
That is amazing consumption! :praise:

You have a lead foot. Sorry to say that. It is just the way that the male anatomy works. There is nothing you can do about it.

So just enjoy life and bury that right foot in the carpet. That is why you drive a BMW. Or you could swing by the local Chery dealer on your way home and discuss trade in values.

That is impressive indeed! Maybe with EcoPro mode on and a/c and everything else off lol. Even the radio?

Lol Guys.

My finding after some research. Accelerate slowly to 60 or 80km/h = Heavy consumption.

My wife almost floor it till 60 or 80 and then ease off the throttle and that = Good Consumption.

Try it!

Hmm, funny you should say that...

My wife drives a 12 Mini Cooper S and she drives it, no granma driving there...
I've driven it a few times as well and she gets better fuel consumption than I do where I'm nursing it.

Go figure... And here I'm granny driving my 330d in ECO mode trying to save on fuel :tiptoe:
