Hi guys

I’m in the process of selling my 2015 F30 320i and looking at getting into a 2016 or later 320d msport.

I have come across a few but the search is proving to be a bit difficult and finding something that still has some motor plan left and within my R350k budget is difficult as well.

If I had to look at one that is out of motor plan, what are the things that I need to look at apart from checking the VIN number for history. I know these engines are solid and reliable but I am just looking for a few pointers as to what I should look at.

Also, if you guys come across an msport with a decent amount of extras that is under R350k with balance of motor plan, please let me know.

Thank you

If you are getting an M-Sport, I would advise to check that the wheels have not been buckled, cracked or repaired poorly. It is no secret that the 19s on runflat rubber crack or buckle easily on potholes.

When I bought my 320d m sport it was on 60 000kms. It had 6 months left on the plan which actually meant nothing as it went for final full service at my request as the actual service was still in many miles. So the last service was fully preventative to check everything was fine and there were no nasties ahead.
When I sold it 4 years later with 160 000km on it, it had been through oil change every 10000 or so (sometimes 15000) had rims repaired (as mr Y says) them being low profile 19’s potholes were the Naim of my life.
But other than tires which were pretty pricey, I had zero major issues mechanically the car was kept sound and serviced when due, and also did preventative checks once a year.
The car was as good at 160k km’s as it was at 60k.

I regret selling it almost daily

I had a 320d f30 and was in the exact situation , and milleage, the engines are honestly bullet proof the normal things like brakes , disc now and then control arms depending on your driving and terrain otherwise you safe alongst service is done which is 12000 to 15000 kms intervals
