F25 X3 Battery Replacement

Just want share with you how I was shafted today by BMW, way worse than a doctor with big hands during a prostate exam.

Servicing the gearbox the other day at ZF the technician told me there were several error codes relating to low voltage and this morning the car threw a similar message. Not wanting to bugger around as I have a long trip due tomorrow I took it to the BMW dealership as I know they need to match/join the battery to the car.

Long story short, a battery for a F25 3.0D with fitment is exactly R7 623.21 at BMW. 

WTF!!, are these AGM Batteries really that expensive?

Ouch, that's gotta hurt for sure.

An alternative would have been to contact our forum sponsor: ABM BMW, and get a discounted quote on an OEM battery.

Alternatively, I could have supplied and registered a Willard or Varta AGM battery for R4000-4500.

In general, AGMs are approx. 50% more than the equivalent 'regular' battery.
