F20 Windows misting up

Recently took delivery of a F20 118i A/T and noticed after the heavy rains in Durban that all the glass gets misty when parked.

Now this is not just your normal overnight fogging of the windows.

I drove to work and parked, come out at lunchtime and see the windows are misted up again

Get inside to inspect and can't see or feel and water or dampness.

When I opened the boot, the mat in boot is wet and smells damp

Could this be causing the fogging on all the windows?

I cannot take it to BMW as Motorplan is not on my name yet. The logbook is not on my name (have to wait till Wesbank transfer - 21 days)

Any reason why the boot mat is wet?

I'm guessing there might be a leak somewhere

Was not involved in any accidents so maybe just a rubber or something?

No idea

I noticed water getting into my brake light lense in heavy rains (fairly new car), maybe there's a similar leak in yours only worse that its getting into your boot mat.

I would leave a newspaper in a couple places under the mat, and check it after a heavy downpour or a carwash.

I have the same issue on my F20 too and i live in Durban, after that heavy down pour, water was in the toolkit and battery compartment. Best way I dealt with it was to remove the rubber seals at the bottom and drained it. I am yet to investigate where the leak is. But the windows do not mist up
