F20 LCI with led headlights

I have been driving a 120i LCI for a couple of days now and I realised that on the LED headlights the smaller lights on the cluster are fake. The brights work from the outer headlight.

The lighting is not bad, but its an optional extra to have a dummy light.

thats correct .. as mentioned its been this way from the e90lci .. its a bi-xenon / bi-led light ...
Be happy that the 1 series has a projector ... the 3 series lci doesnt have such luxuries ....

True, The lighting on my 3 series is bad. It doesn't focus correctly and oncoming vehicles are constantly flashing me thinking the brights are on.

I agree with them not being focused properly .. theres a dark patch that u get in the middle of the light throw .. great technology .. not so greatly put together ..

my e90 lci is the same. the outer xenon works but the inside one stays black all the time

BMW is lagging a bit behind Audi and Merc with their LED tech, I believe they focus more on Laser light now.
