F10 M5 OEM software update

If you have a F10 M5, do yourself a favor and go get the LATEST OEM software. You will get alot more power.

A friend of mine phoned me this evening telling me that BMW have released a new version of the OEM because they had problems in the previous versions on the F10. The cars weren't performing correctly. All the M's were under the claimed power.
His car was a lot less than the test car that CAR magazine had a few months ago. CAR mags one did 390kw on the dyno.
He had his updated on Wednesday, it's now doing 435kw and 780nm.
This is OEM software, not aftermarket

The M5 came with bad fuel version software with limited boost
The new sodtware seems to be the std software as in Europe

My experience is that the altitude compensation on the software is off and cars up here are producing more power. The Car mag run at coast cannot be compared to runs up here. Thus far all M5's up here havshowing in access of 420wkw.
A lot of cars locally have had exhaust gasket problems, maybe due to lean conditions so maybe new software is a fix with a few more chillies as they had in the press release cars. They must be getting flack from customers who are getting whipped by the E63 twin turbos at lower speeds.

Will the M6 also need to go for this update or just the F10 M5?

Think just the 2011, 2012 and early 2013 M5's.
M6 is a few months old, they should be fine
