F series weatherproofing

During the rains this weekend I discovered my F30 has a bit of a water leak. Seems that the cover that fits between the bonnet and windscreen has rotted away and there's a hole. Had quite a bit of water fall in and soak the drivers side floor.

Can anyone recommend a sealant to use? Afraid of using just anything in case it starts eating away at the existing rubber

From experience , If that rubber seal is rotting away and degrading , Nothing will really fix it , Long term , its best to replace the cover . Its not that expensive from BMW ( For what it is ) and not difficult to replace .

That thing becomes brittle and just starts breaking up in chunks while driving .
