Hi All

I have had the little lightbulb with the exclimation light come on in the dash, see image below.

ExteriorLightError.jpg

I cant see what light it is. I had to check the lights physically n both headlights work, hazards sidelights, indicators. Tuned my girlfriend to stand outside and check at the back, the reverse lights both work, brake lights work. I'm confused, anyone else seen this?

It all started on Sat when i had left the car in the sun for a while not sure if that's what caused the problem. Now when i switch on the car i get the error message and it just disappears after a while.

The car is out of motor-plan

just get your missus to step on the brake, go have a look at the highlevel brake light in the roof lining from behind. It could be moaning that one of the LED's went pop. Very easy to fix & cheap

if all else fails, check each & every light in the car & out.

there is definatly a fuse. The globe warnign will not go on unless there is fault. put it this way. Its either on or off. no in between, like the globe is maybe on its way out. It is out !

sorry: quick edit. You didnt hook a trailer perhaps ? . My car does that when i hook the trailer & does it for a couple of days after that & then magically disapears LOL. Everything works like a charm on the car & trailer yet it gives me a warnign. It took me some time to figure it out but the car is looking for 2 simultaenous connections but the trailer on has one connection split to the two tail lights hence i get the error ( the car thinks that one side of the trailers lights are boogered )

Check the rear lights, as in remove the inner parts.

I noted when detailing on the E90's that moisture can every easily get in there and "trip" the bulb warning light despite there being no blown bulbs.

Remove each bulb with a cloth, then just pat dry the connectors and refit.

Also, check the License Plate Bulbs!

Would have been nice if they could point out the faulty bulb, Dealer would charge R2k just to check that.
