Exhausts - Polishing

Hey,

Whats the best way to keep an exhaust clean & polished?

I bought a Polishing wheel to fit to my drill, but when I got home it is too big to fit inside my exhaust pipe.

Any tips or suggestions?

you get a cone (foam) polishing pad that you can use with a drill to polish inside. Not so easy to find.

I did my exhaust with a small polish pad on a dremmel.

Not bad for a normal steel exhsust it just took ages, and want something for the drill that fits inside the pipe

It's called Rawsons. Got it from Builders, in their polishing/sandpaper section.

The end result (step 3) is only as good if step 1 is right. Preparation affects 80% of the end result.

I did my exhaust (530d) on sunday. Bought some mothers steel polish from mega mica eastgate and just used a shield microfiber and it's not bad at all. It looks shiny but there's still some "bits" on it that need more abrasion. Very surprisingly for me it's still looking pretty damn shiny. On my seat you'd clean the exhaust and drive to the corner and it was black.

Where can I get that CM30 cleaner?

Any outlets here in Cape Town or do I have to buy online?

Clean Green will work just as good or any APC (All Purpose Cleaner)

Oh yeah my "step 1" was with prepsol.

Just a pic, nowhere near as shiny as Rowens example but then I was expecting it to be black by now. Need more abrasion to get off some bits but then I'll need more polishing on the rest.

What does the preparation entail and what type if polisher did you use on the drill?
