Exhaust port under front passenger side ? E39 530d 2001 model
today I noticed the rubber panel under the front passenger side of the car was sagging badly and filled with diesel fuel, the diesel has eaten the rubber panel so that it sags like a cieling panel after a geyser burst.
So I removed the panel completely, washed it with "handy andy" and the proceeded to look for the fuel(diesel) leak, non evident, tried running the car, engine off but ignition and fuel pump on to create pressure etc...not a weap, not a drop...nada....to play safe I tightend all the fuel pipe clamps by an extra 1/2 turn...just in case.
then I noticed in the same area an Exhaust port that comes from within the engine bay and is ported overboard in this area as well, the rubber panel actually has an oval cut out in it to allow for this exhaust port to protrude, what is "vented" overboard thru this exhaust port/vent...could it be diesel..?
anybody ?
