Excessive fuel consumption 320i e46 automatic

I'm experiencing these issues on my 2003 BMW 320i e46 Auto: Excessive fuel consumption (16.2L/100Km), difficulty in accelerating uphill even when gas pedal is totally floored, rough idling on cold starts. EML light comes on when ignition is turned on, and then dissappears. Mechanic has done several replacement like MAF sensor, PCV, and hoses, plugs, ignition coil etc. Yet problem remain unsolved.

Any idea what could be the problem? I'm getting frustrated with my mechanic as they seem not to be able to figure it out. Your suggestions are welcomed.

Go visit Rolf at Brilliant Mechanical Workshop in Claremont.

Your problem could related to many possible faults (vacuum leaks, sticking vanos) which need to be diagnosed by an expert, which your current mechanic clearly is not.

As a matter of fact, they are the mechanic working on it! and they have worked on it twice already. Every time they said it's fixed, but i keep experiencing the same issues 2days of driving out of the workshop. I have been spending much money without success.

I'm surprised that Rolf has not been able to fix your car. If the problem reappears after a few days, take it back so he can investigfate further. Surely he warrants his work?
