I have replaced my crankshaft sensor, starter and a fuel pump on my BMW 320i e90 but my car still doesn't start. The parts replaced were found to have been faulty, by the way. So I got some diagnostic BMW guy to come check it our and reset the faults for me. After he reset the existing faults and diagnosed it again, we found the errors below but they said unknown. So if anyone knows these, please let me know what they mean and how to get them fixed. If you can also estimate for me how much it would cost, roughly.

  1. 2A59
  2. 2A5B
  3. 2B98
  4. 2F44

Hi there.

'some diagnostic BMW guy to come check it'

This BMW guy is more a generic mechanic. A serious BMW guy will use INPA to read BMW codes.

I suggest a diagnostics from a reputable BMW specialist.
A quick google search of the last 2 OBD faults seem a little intense.

Good luck bud

Last code will prevent the car from starting. The rolling immobiliser code between CAS and DME is out of sync. Without sync'ing them your car will never start in a million years.

This can happen when a car is cranked more than 10 times without the engine starting. Get that sorted first, then you can look at the Valvetronic issue, which can also prevent the car from starting if the eccentric shaft is jammed and can't close, interfering with the compression of the engine at start.

RAM internal fault can be severe, but sometimes it pops up if there's a checksum issue in flash, which can happen from the rolling codes being an issue. It should go away once engine has started.

You can bring CAS, key and ecu to me so I can put it on my jig here to test properly for you, and do the alignment of start value to get rolling codes back in sync.

My car is ion Greenstone and does not start. Where are you based? I can tow truck it to you if the distances makes financial sense. It was definitely cranked more than 10 times.

No need for the car bud. I just need Cas, Key and ECU. I'll be able to check that at least the electronics side is working correctly.
